JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Ticker) - Tackle Mike Williams hasn't lived up to his billing as the fourth overall pick in the 2002 draft. Now he gets a chance at a fresh start.

Offensive tackle Mike Williams, the fourth overall pick in the 2002 draft, signed Tuesday with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 6-foot-6, 360 pound Williams was cut by Buffalo last month after four disappointing seasons. In Jacksonville, he could push starting right tackle Maurice Williams for playing time but more likely will replace backups Mike Pearson and Ephraim Salaam.

Tight end Brian Jones signed his tender offer Wednesday, keeping him with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones spent the last two seasons in Jacksonville after signing as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2004 out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He played in 13 games last season and started one. Henderson signs contract extension with Jaguars (AP)



Defensive tackle John Henderson signed a six-year contract extension on Tuesday with the Jacksonville Jaguars, which locked up another cornerstone of their defense. Terms of the deal were not released, but Henderson's agent, Tim McGee, said the new contract gave Henderson more guaranteed money than any other NFL tackle.
